Social activities

An integral part of the company’s corporate culture is corporate social responsibility, and sponsorship to culture and arts. The primary aim of our support to culture has always been to improve the corporate image and awareness, first of all within a target group defined by the company. The clientele mostly comprises domestic corporations that demand broadcasting services; accordingly, the target group for sponsoring music predominantly includes the decision-makers in these companies, in addition to the stratum that is generally appreciative of classical music and contemporary works of art. A match between this target group and the profile of the event sponsored by the company is of paramount importance; this is why high standard musical performances and contemporary art of high quality are assigned a significant role in terms of cultural sponsorship.

Among sponsored events, the series of festivals organised in the framework of the Zemplén Festival holds a key position, with Antenna Hungária as the main sponsor for seventeen years on end. A central element of corporate social responsibility assumed by French TDF-owned Antenna Hungária is to provide support to high quality events and works of art of national significance. An emphatic element of this strategy is sponsorship of the Zemplén Festival. Zemplén is open to revival and cultural experiments, but it must not be forgotten that the festival venue is one of the most faithful guardians of national traditions, a major representative of Hungarian wine culture even on an international scale, and also a store-house of architectural and natural treasures. Zemplén has become a real place of pilgrimage for music lovers, who gather here from both sides of the borders to enjoy great programmes in a magnificent and authentic historical and natural setting. Setting a standard to be retained, the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra originated the event; this is what represents the basics for the organisation team headed by Miklós Turjányi and Gábor Hollerung.

In early April 2003, Antenna Magazine was published and delivered to 5 000 addressees, published by PrintXBudavár ZRt. and sponsored by Antenna Hungária. Although the background to this magazine has been provided by Antenna Hungária, the primarily intention has not been to operate as a PR channel to the company, but an indirect contribution to improving AH’s corporate image through publishing articles on telecommunications, media, IT and culture in the form of an authentic, informative and entertaining magazine. Authors and editors are professional journalists (for Magyar Narancs, Index, HVG, Műértő etc.). The main target groups of the complimentary publication include leading media personalities, senior and middle managers in the economy and the government, decision-makers operating in and determining the existence of various fields in the telecommunications sector, the media, IT and culture, as well as senior and middle managers in the top 200 companies in Hungary.
