„It is important also for MTV to present on the terrestrial platform. The public channels are available in a large portion of the Hungarian households - presently approximately 20% - on this form solely. Hungarian Television is a committed participant of the digital switchover and is prepared for the challenges of the future. We support every new transmission technology, which serves the interest of the viewers, like broadening the valuable content or improving the television experience. The television of the future will arrive soon” – commented Balázs Medveczky, acting Vice-Chairman of Hungarian Television.
„We welcome the decision of Hungarian Television, as one of the most decisive players on the digital terrestrial platform, to participate actively in the process of the Hungarian digital switchover. Therewith MTV’s joining the platform for the long term, the free of charge offer of the service contains already six programs, from which three are available in high-definition (HD) format. MinDig TV is the only service which enables the most popular Hungarian channels free of charge, representing already twice the number of free-to-air channels available on the analogue terrestrial platform. The population coverage of the MinDig TV service will increase significantly, up to 88% in December, besides this, we will continue to broaden the service offer” – explained Jean-Francois Fenech, CEO of Antenna Hungária.
