Network maintenance

Antenna Hungária Zrt. carries out infrastructure and telecommunication network maintenance on its own network and the networks of its contractual partners. In addition to the troubleshooting services provided in a 24-hour on-call emergency system, the national organisation of the Division provides maintenance, installation and telecommunications measurement services. Apart from the telecommunications systems (low, medium and high-capacity microwave networks, broadcasting network, GSM base station network), the troubleshooting and maintenance services cover the ancillary equipment (low and medium voltage power supply, ventilation and emergency power supply devices, building engineering etc.) and include the provision of network supervision services. Brief description of the main services:



Maintenance of AH ZRt's broadcast network

The regular maintenance and troubleshooting of the transmitter network and the ancillary equipment of the broadcasting service, the Company's main line of business.

The Company is in possession of the service background indispensable to meet the extremely high reliability requirements required for the broadcasting of public-service and commercial channels (M1, M2, RTL, TV2, Kossuth, Bartók, Petőfi, Danubius etc.), achieved with nearly twenty primary transmitters and over 150 relay transmitters, ensuring national coverage, in addition to troubleshooting and maintenance services performed in a 24-hour on-call emergency system.


Maintenance of AH ZRt's microwave primary and backhaul networks

The service network of the Company guarantees the 24-hour on-call emergency troubleshooting and regular maintenance services of the national high-capacity digital (SDH), backhaul (PDH) and analogue microwave networks. In addition to the network maintenance service, maintenance experts carry out the installation and putting into operation of microwave equipment. Additional services include site designation, interference and quality control measurements and the testing and repairing of defective network components.



The equipment maintained are supplied by the following vendors (among others): NEC, MATIS, SIAE, SRT, TOTALTEL, ERICSSON etc.



Maintenance of mobile communication base station networks

Since 1996, the Company has carried out base station network maintenance activities and the troubleshooting and maintenance of backhaul microwave networks in a 24-hour on-call emergency system. In addition to the above, the service includes the troubleshooting and maintenance of various ancillary equipment (power supply, tower lighting, antennas, power lines etc.) and providing back-up power supply.

Maintenance of other broadcasting and telecommunication networks

In addition to the above, the Company provides maintenance services to a number of customers operating smaller regional networks.



The organizational background of network maintenance services

Maintenance services are provided out of six regional service centres (Budapest, Emőd, Pécs, Sopron, Szentes, Veszprém and Debrecen). Such distribution ensures full and simultaneous coverage throughout the country.

Technical equipment

The Company is fully equipped with a very wide range of technical equipment.






Each of the above maintenance centres and maintenance team sites have access to the Company's internal communication and IT networks. 



The maintenance organisation disposes of over 80 vehicles, more than 60 percent of which are four-wheel drive all-terrain vehicles or minibuses (typically MITSUBISHI and VW models). With the exception of some specially converted vehicles, the vehicle fleet consists of vehicles less than three years old.



The available emergency back-up power supply sources currently include mobile 4 power generators of a capacity of 33 kVA, 12 generators of a capacity of 14 kVA and 17 and 6 generators of a capacity of 6,5 kVA and 20 kVA respectively.



Many of our maintenance personnel are trained steeplejacks with the required gear.

For our telecom partners and other technology and Internet businesses, the AH offers antenna locations and solutions for the positioning of related equipment at more than 200 sites, mostly telecommunication towers.

Utilisation of property assets

Utilisation of AH's property infrastructure, including the land below towers, vacant, unutilised property and the sorting out of Land Registry records. To that end, the conclusion of land use, sale and purchase or lease contracts and their registration with the Land Registry. As far as properties for sale are concerned, the preparation of the properties, division of the property, the indication of buildings, ordering a value assessment and arranging easements.
